After seven years in semi retirement, mostly trying to do five days work in a three day week. I cut myself loose and retired fully in April 2019. Sheila, a mere slip of a thing, had finished with her paid work about the same time.
One of our ambitions for many years was to undertake a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela. We had put it off year after year because of work commitments. This then was our opportunity and we set off on 8 May 2019.
We have taken to calling this our ‘retirement gap year’. Well, if teenagers can have gap years why can’t retirees.
I resolved to write a rudimentary blog more for our personal record. If however, any of my minuscule readership find it interesting enough to browse through then that’s good.
